Voodoo & Betrayal in Tony-Nominated Marie Christine
October 21 – December 10, 2017
Set during the twilight years of the 19th century, Michael John LaChiusa’s Tony-nominated musical follows the journey of multiracial Marie Christine, from a genteel life in New Orleans Creole society to her tragic fate, imprisoned without a trial to face a death sentence. Inspired by the Greek myth of Medea and loosely based on real-life voodoo practitioner Marie Laveau, Marie Christine is a tale of love, betrayal and vengeance. BoHo Theatre’s production runs at Theater Wit in Chicago.
